Aalborg Dressage Event is held by Sportsrideklubben Aalborg (SAO). It takes place at the large equestrian center Finstrupgaard, located on the outskirts of Aalborg at Dallvej 5, 9230 Svenstrup.
Aalborg Dressage Event is the only event organized by a local riding association and by volunteers. We are very proud of the unity and volunteer spirit that exists in SAO.
Sportsrideklubben Aalborg is a traditional association, which with its more than 100 years is one of the oldest riding associations in the country. We are a member of the national Danish Riding Association under the FEI. We are officially certified on several parameters by the Danish Riding Association.
The club's general manager and master rider is Nikolai Kowalski. He has 2 riding students in training - an indispensable help and support for the good environment in the club.
SAO has for many years trained skilled riders who have participated in both the Danish Championships and the National Championships in both jumping and dressage.
Every year, SAO holds the traditional and popular Jutland Championships in jumping and the Jutland Championships in dressage. SAO also holds several regional competitions each year with championship classes in both dressage and jumping. The events are always well attended and a large part of the association's members participate themselves.
About the place
Finstrupgaard is a listed, cozy, old property that with its whitewashed walls and boulder-clad walls exudes history and tradition.
The place has grown and today has room for approx. 100 horses. There is room for both pensioners, a riding school and a large disability department, which offers riding physiotherapy.
At Finstrupgaard there are three riding halls, 2 outdoor jumping tracks and 3 dressage tracks. The buildings are surrounded by fields and paddocks and a large nature area, with riding trails and the opportunity to enjoy nature with his horse.
